Acupuncture, Cupping & Herbology

ACUPUNCTURE

A form of medicine originating in the East, which has progressed over thousands of years assisting humans in overcoming maladies. There are over 300 points on the body that have a different purpose and instruction of use that only a trained practitioner should be accessing.  These points are located on a meridian that is associated with a vital organ or spirit in the body and used as a communication network to rectify the imbalance.  Once a diagnosis has been established, the meridians and points are selected to achieve an efficacious outcome. Every point is sanitized then accessed with the finest single-use sterile needle. Typically the needles are retained for 28 minutes under my supervision and disposed under OSHA regulations.

 HERBOLOGY

Natural Herbs

Natural Herbs

Chinese Herbology is a highly effective & sustainable way to treat a multitude of ailments.  I have an arsenal of ancient formulas that powerfully assist one in achieving wellness. Over 400 Chinese herbs exist and are all unique in action and potency.  The knowledge of these extraordinary plants and how they should be formulated, allow me to prescribe the ideal herbal formula tailored for individual need.  However, not every patient is a candidate of herbal therapies, due to occasional interactions when used in combination with potent western pharmaceuticals. This attentiveness and strict monitoring maximizes a successful outcome when ingesting these healing plants. In fact, majority of pharmaceuticals in our western world are extrapolated from these herbal plant sources and then scientifically altered to achieve a certain potency of action.

CUPPING

Cupping

Cupping

Cupping has been practiced for centuries, in many cultures, to successfully treat a diverse amount of issues. It begins with the introduction of heat into a glass cup to create a vacuum effect, then applying that cup onto the skin with a suction type of sensation. This results in forcing out toxins and "evil qi" from deep muscle layers to create space and detoxify the area of concern. Cups are placed over certain acupuncture points to intensify their action in treating specific ailments.  Cupping is a non-invasive way to restore balance in the body by using an external force. This simple procedure can leave a bruise-like appearance when patients have excess heat and toxins in the body and should resolve within a few days of treatment. Commonly used to resolve a disease process involved with pain, acute & chronic diagnosis, swellings, infection, depression, GI disorders, bleeding, hormonal imbalances and so on.

The American Journal of Chinese Medicine found that cupping stimulates the immune and neurological systems by increasing blood flow & oxygenation, activates neurotransmitters and release of hormones that reduce pain perception.
